At Eds Hair, we want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. We take great care in selecting and supplying professional haircare products, electrical styling appliances and accessories.
This policy explains your rights when purchasing from our online store at www.edshair.co.uk, including cancellations, returns, refunds and faulty products.
Our policy complies with applicable UK consumer protection legislation, including the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 and the Consumer Rights Act 2015, as amended.
Nothing in this policy affects your statutory consumer rights.
Under UK distance-selling legislation, consumers purchasing goods online generally have the right to cancel their order within 14 calendar days without providing a reason.
The cancellation period begins the day after you, or a person nominated by you other than the delivery carrier, receives the goods.
For orders delivered in multiple separate consignments, the cancellation period generally begins the day after receipt of the final item.
You must notify us of your decision to cancel before the cancellation period expires.
To request a cancellation, please contact:
Email: shop@edshair.co.uk
Telephone: 0161 439 8058
Please include your order number and details of the products you wish to return.
You may also use the cancellation form at the end of this policy.
At Eds Hair, we recognise that hairbrushes, combs and electrical styling appliances are personal care products that may come into direct contact with the hair and scalp.
These include, but are not limited to:
Hairbrushes, detangling brushes and combs.
Hair straighteners and heated styling brushes.
Curling tongs, curling wands and hot brushes.
Hairdryers and hairdryer attachments.
Electrical hair styling appliances and accessories.
For hygiene reasons, we ask customers not to use these products on their hair or scalp if they intend to return them because they have changed their mind.
Important distinction: These products are not automatically excluded from statutory cancellation rights merely because they are personal care products or have been removed from their outer packaging.
Where a product is supplied with a genuine hygiene seal and is unsuitable for return for health protection or hygiene reasons once that seal is broken, the statutory cancellation exception may apply.
Where the exception does not apply, customers retain their statutory right to cancel.
Customers may inspect products to establish their nature, characteristics and functioning, as they reasonably could in a retail shop.
If a product has been handled beyond what is necessary for this purpose, including through use on the hair or scalp, we may make an appropriate deduction for any resulting diminished value, where permitted by law.
Any deduction will reflect the actual reduction in value and will not operate as an automatic refusal of a statutory refund.
This section does not affect your rights in relation to faulty, damaged, misdescribed or otherwise non-conforming goods.
We sell professional shampoos, conditioners, hair treatments, styling products and other personal care items.
Where products are supplied with a hygiene or protective seal and are genuinely unsuitable for return for health protection or hygiene reasons once unsealed after delivery, the statutory cancellation exception may apply.
This may include certain sealed cosmetics or personal care products, depending on their nature and whether the legal conditions are met.
Opening ordinary external packaging does not automatically remove your cancellation rights.
Where the statutory cancellation right applies, any handling beyond what is reasonably necessary to inspect the goods may result in a lawful deduction for diminished value.
Your statutory rights relating to faulty or misdescribed products remain unaffected.
Once you have notified us of your decision to cancel an eligible order, you must return the goods within 14 calendar days of giving that notification.
Returns should be sent to:

We recommend contacting us before returning goods so that we can provide appropriate return instructions.
You are responsible for the direct cost of returning unwanted goods under the statutory cancellation right, unless we have agreed otherwise or are legally required to pay those costs.
We recommend using a tracked postal service and retaining proof of postage.
You are responsible for packaging returned products securely to protect them during transit.
Original packaging is recommended but is not an automatic requirement for exercising statutory cancellation rights.
Where you validly cancel an entire order under your statutory cancellation right, we will refund:
The price paid for the goods.
The original standard delivery charge, up to the cost of the least expensive common and generally acceptable delivery method we offered.
If you selected an express or premium delivery service, we are not required to refund the additional amount above the standard delivery cost.
Where only part of an order is cancelled, any refund of the original delivery charge will depend on the circumstances and applicable law.
The customer is responsible for return postage where this was communicated before purchase, unless we have agreed otherwise.
We may make a lawful deduction where goods have diminished in value because of handling beyond what was reasonably necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and functioning.
Refunds will be made without undue delay and no later than 14 calendar days after we receive the returned goods or you provide evidence of having sent them back, whichever occurs first, unless we have offered to collect them.
Refunds will be made using the original payment method unless you expressly agree otherwise.
We do not charge restocking or administration fees for statutory cancellations.
If you receive a product that is faulty, damaged, incorrect or not as described, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible.
Email: shop@edshair.co.uk
Please provide your order number, a description of the problem and, where helpful, photographs.
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, products must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described.
Where goods do not conform to the contract, you will generally have the short-term right to reject them and receive a refund within 30 days, subject to the applicable legal conditions.
You may be entitled to a repair or replacement.
If a repair or replacement is unsuccessful, impossible, disproportionate or cannot be provided within a reasonable time without significant inconvenience, you may be entitled to a price reduction or final right to reject the goods.
Where a fault becomes apparent within the first six months, the law generally presumes it was present at delivery unless the retailer proves otherwise or the presumption is incompatible with the goods or fault.
Statutory rights may continue beyond six months.
Where goods are faulty or otherwise fail to conform to the contract, we will meet our legal obligations regarding necessary and reasonable return costs.
Hygiene-related exclusions do not remove statutory rights concerning faulty goods, including hairbrushes and electrical styling appliances.
We do not offer a separate general change-of-mind exchange guarantee beyond statutory rights.
If you wish to exchange an unwanted product, you may contact us to discuss available options.
Where applicable, you may cancel and return an eligible product under your statutory cancellation right and place a new order.
Where goods are faulty, your statutory rights to repair, replacement or other remedies will apply.
Products purchased in a sale or using a promotional discount retain the same statutory consumer rights as full-priced products.
Eligible sale items may be returned under the statutory cancellation provisions.
Faulty or misdescribed sale items remain covered by the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Any refund will normally reflect the amount actually paid, including any applicable discount.
Gift cards and vouchers purchased online may be subject to statutory cancellation rights depending on their nature and the terms of the transaction.
Where a statutory cancellation right applies, Eds Hair will honour it.
For salon service vouchers, the applicable cancellation arrangements may depend on whether a service has been booked, supplied or commenced and whether any lawful cancellation exception applies.
Voucher validity periods and redemption conditions will be made available before purchase.
Nothing in our voucher terms excludes statutory consumer rights.
If your order arrives damaged, is delivered incorrectly or does not arrive, please contact us.
Where we arrange the delivery carrier, goods generally remain at our risk until they come into your physical possession or that of a person you have nominated, subject to applicable exceptions.
Unless a different delivery period has been agreed, goods must generally be delivered within 30 days of the contract being made.
Where delivery is delayed, you may have statutory rights to request delivery within an additional appropriate period or, in certain circumstances, cancel and receive a refund.
This policy primarily addresses purchases governed by UK consumer law.
Customers outside the UK may have additional mandatory rights under the laws applicable to their purchase.
Nothing in this policy is intended to exclude consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Please contact us before arranging an international return.
